Collection: Totally Wonderful Day

TWD, Totally Wonderful Day, may trigger some emotions and I really hope that it does. 

Racist, Homophobic, and Antisemitic slogans have been thrown in our faces for decades, such as Totally Joyous Day, Totally Fantastic Day, and Totally Nice Day. In a time when those slogans were being pushed into the faces of black and queer youth, others were throwing shot glasses and hot coffee in the faces of police, burning down police precincts, and actively destroying these systems that allowed these slogans to be normalized. 

People are worried about the implications "radical" statements like this could have on people because they see it as an attack on the white race, rather it being an attack on whiteness.

Never once do these individuals stop to ask what statements like Totally Wonderful Day actually means at its core. Totally Wonderful Day, Total White Death, is about bringing death ( dismantle and/or destruction ) to Whiteness ( the system of hierarchy that has placed a default standard on being white ). 

TWD is a reaction to decades of generational trauma. TWD is a reaction to failed riots and protests. TWD is a reaction to voices long ignored. Dr. King himself stated that a riot is the voice of the unheard, but again no one seems to be listening. Holding hands and praying that we can have cordial conversations with people who refuse to humanize us when we are not in their presence, is like holding our heads under water expecting to be able to breathe. At the end of the day it does more damage to us than anyone else. 

TWD is not an attack, it's a call to action, a call for change. We can not destroy something that so many refuse to admit exists.
